the world's poorest people. We support local
organisations to manage low cost, sustainable
projects and also provide policy support to secure
the tight of poor people to safe water and
sanitation services. To effectively implement our
country strategy, WaterAid Nigeria invites suitably
qualified candidates to fill these exciting
opportunities on our team:
HEAD OF PROGRAMME
Job Details
The role will be accountable for lending strategic
leadership towards achieving the objectives of
Water Aid and ensure effective. implementation of
our programme delivery, You will balance sound
development programme expertise with ability to
motivate and mentor your team and implementing
partners. As a member of the Senior Management
Team, you will contribute to setting the direction
and professional standards tor colleagues in this
international development agency.
The position is based in Abuja but will require
regular travel to support our work in the states.
LGAs and over 35 local partner organizations,
Occasional travel outside the country will be
expected for this role.
Minimum requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess a Masters
Degree in tbe social Sciences, Public Health
or Engineering (or other relevant field).
You will possess a minimum 10 years post
graduation experience, 5 of which MUST be
at senior management level providing
supportive leadership and mentoring to
teams of high skilled professionals in a
multicultural setting.
You will be an excellent professional
demonstrating strong analytical
and problem solving skills complemented
by sound evidence affirming your previous
experience applying these to the design
and implementation of development
projects using the NGO approach.
You will have experience of work grounded
in strategy thinking, planning and
execution and with managing complex /
multi-Ievel stakeholder relations to achieve
strategic organizational goals.
You will posses experience managing
international donor grant funded projects
and be familiar with grant donor
regulations.
Previous experience implementing WASH
programmes with represent a distinct
advantage.
PROGRAM COORDINATOR, SUSTAINABLE
TOTAL SANITATION NIGERIA
Job Details
This role will oversee programme planning and
delivery: programme monitoring and reporting:
communication & partnership liaison and staff
management on a new programme which seeks to
consolidate WaterAid's years of work to improve
effectiveness, efficiency, inclusiveness and
susrainability of sanitation approaches in 3 states
or Nigeria. This position will be expected to provide
day to day coordination towards achievement of
the project goals and ensuring the integration of
the project's activities with broader WaterAid in
Nigeria programme priorities.
The position will be based in Abuja, Nigeria but will
require regular travel to support our work in the
states, LGAs and over 35 local partner
organizations and occasional travel outside the
country.
Minimum Requirements
The ideal person tor this position would possess an
undergraduate andMaster's degrees in the natural,
physical or social sciences: minimum 10 years of
experience ,of which at least 5 of which MUST be in
a senior development programme management or
coordination role: strong demonstrable experience
in the effective management and delivery of
complex community based development projects
with multiple stakeholder in a developing country
context; experience with managing multiple
project stakeholdersincluding community level
stakeholders, government officials; donors etc:
excellent competencies in writing project reports;
strong demonstrable experience with managing
people in a direct supervisory role and strong
experience with implementation of an action
learning and research project in a development
setting.
