Rocket-Powered Bicycle Sets World Record

A fearless
Frenchman, Francois Gissy has broken a
world record for having the fastest bicycle ever,
zooming along at 207 mph thanks to some rocket
power that the bicycle uses.
Francois Gissy went on his world record-
beating run at a racetrack in Le Castellet in
the South of France on Friday, reaching the
speed in 4.8 seconds after traveling 250
meters, or about 820 feet.
The bike, from Exotic Thermo Engineering,
was designed by Gissy's friend, Arnold
Neracher. Gissy told Gizmag that it was
powered by highly concentrated hydrogen
peroxide.
The bike was so fast it left a Ferrari F430 —
which can go from 0 to 62 mph in 4 seconds
— in the dust, or at least a cloud of rocket
smoke.
A second clip, below, shows the event in
part from the point of view of the Ferrari's
driver. It's in French, but the imagery is
priceless.
Don't expect Gissy to slow down any time
soon. He already has plans for his next ride.
