A 34-year-old man identified as Asimiyu Ibrahim has
been charged for allegedly stealing from the
premises of MFM (Mountain of Fire & Miracles)
church at Elemoro parish in Lagos.
The accused who resides in Elemoro area of Ibeju
Lekki Lagos was charged with 2-count of felony and
stealing today before a Tinubu Magistrates' Court.
The police prosecutor, Coporal Koti Aondohemba told
the court that the accused committed the offence on
15 October, 2014 at Ibeju Lekki, Lagos.
He said the accused entered the church premises at
about 5am to steal the church's Elepaq generator
and X Star Television set, all valued at N110,000,
He said during interrogation, the accused allegedly
confessed to the crime.
He however pleaded not guilty to the charges and
Chief Magistrate S. K. Matepo admitted the accused
on bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety (a
blood relation) in like sum.
He has been transferrend to Ikoyi Prison pending the
time he'll meet his bail conditions.
