Boy Shoots Self In Face With Gun Found In Car

Authorities in
California say a 10-year-old boy has been
hospitalized after he accidentally shot himself in
the face with a gun he found while sitting in a car
in southeastern Pennsylvania.
Police in Delaware County say the shooting
was reported in Darby Township at about
10:20 p.m. Saturday.
Authorities said the boy and his sister had
been dropped off by their mother at an auto
repair business and were waiting for their
father in the vehicle.
Chief Leonard McDevitt credited the first two
responding officers with having saved the
boy's life.
He told the Delaware County Daily Times
that one drove to Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital
while the other performed CPR in the back
seat.
Police said the boy was listed in guarded by
stable condition early Sunday.
