Afrobeat king, Femi Anikulapo Kuti has unearthed
the reasons behind his decision to pitch his tent with
Chocolate City for his first management deal in
Nigeria.
According to the 52-year old singer, he decided to
sign the deal with Chocolate City because it is a
young label and it boasts of great ideas.
Femi Kuti, who had only been involved in
international management deals over the years, took
to his Twitter page on November 4, 2014 to make the
announcement.
'Signed a management deal with Chocolate city to
manage me in Nigeria. Hopeful to do great things in
Nigeria with CC.
'Yes I've been in business for a long time with a lot of
international experience but what I love most about
Chocolate City is that they are young and have great
ideas too,' Femi Kuti wrote.
The deal, which is Femi Kuti's first management ideal
with a Nigerian entity since he began his career over
3 decades ago, would see Chocolate City involved in
the management of his career in the country.
Femi, the eldest son of late Afrobeat pioneer and
iconic music great, Fela Kuti, started playing the
Saxophone at the age of 15 and created his own
band,
Positive Force in the late 1980s with his late father's
keyboard player, Dele Sosimi.
