I Hope To Live Ten More Years - Obasanjo

Nigeria's former President, Olusegun
Obasanjo, has today received his Permanent
Voters' Card (PVC), which was given to him by
the Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC).
PVC has a life span of ten years and seeing this, the
former president prayed that he would outlive the
card.
He was speaking at the Presidential Hilltop Estate in
Abeokuta, Ogun State, and said: "My prayer to God
is for him to please let me outlast this card."
"This means that if I outlast this card, I can be
smiling. But then, it is only the grace of God. But I
heard that some people were complaining that they
have not collected their card. I do not complain
because I know that I will eventually get my card.
But people that genuinely complain will be attended
to before the elections."
He also prayed that the continuance issuance of PVC
and good on time voters' registration exercise
will show that the nation is heading in the right way.
Obasanjo was the President of Nigeria from 1999 to
2007, this was his second time as President of the
nation, having been the military president of the
country from 13 February 1976 to 1 October 1979.
