Nigerian Police DSP, Anthony Jeaga Beheaded In Agbor Delta State

Agbor community residents in Ika South Local
Government Area of Delta State woke up on Sunday
morning to discover the headless body of a man later
identified as Anthony Jeaga, the divisional traffic
officer (DTO) in-charge of Agbor Police Division.
The bizarre discovery sent shivers down the spines of
residents, who now move with caution especially at
wee hours and in isolated areas.
The deceased, a deputy superintendent of police
(DSP) was allegedly murdered by gunmen along the
Benin-Asaba Expressway where his lifeless body was
found. The remains have been deposited at the
mortuary of the General Hospital, Agbor, possibly for
autopsy.
DSP Jeaga, Daily Sun gathered, was transferred from
the state police headquarters, Asaba to Agbor
division. He hailed from Otuo in Owan East Local
Government Area of Edo State.
Sources said the assailants escaped with the victim's
silver Toyota Camry car with registration number
AYB 88AA.
Acting spokesman of the state police command, DSP
Charles Muka, who confirmed the incident, said the
murder of the traffic officer remained a mystery. "We
don't know what happened. His body was dumped
along the express road with a deep cut on his neck."
Our correspondent, however, gathered from a police
source that one suspect had been arrested in
connection with the murder, while investigations had
been intensified.
According to the source, the suspect had uttered
unwarranted comments about the victim before his
death.
It was also gathered that an unknown female corpse
was recovered by the police at Umunede in Ika North-
East Local Government Area of the state. The corpse,
according to the source, was not mutilated.
