A popular jurist in Kwara state has passed on.
Hon Justice Saidu Kawu, who retired from the
Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1993 died on
Christmas day evening at his home in Ilorin.
In his lifetime, the Ilorin-born jurist was the head of
the National Constitutional Conference Commission
(NCCC) and other high-profile commissions.
Saidu Kawu's death was confirmed by his son,
Justice Suleiman Kawu yesterday in a press briefing
with NAN.
He passed away at age 85.
According to his eldest son, Suleiman, the deceased
would be laid to rest today in Ilorin, Kwara State
Nigeria.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
