Homebound Nigerian higher institution students are
now set to head back to school after ASUU
(Academic Staff Union of Universities) called off its
five month old strike today.
A panel has been set up by NANS (The National
Association of Nigerian Students) to monitor the
utilization of the 200 Billion Naira fund Nigerian FG
gave to Universities as parts of its end strike deal.
Comrade Yinka Gbadebo, NANS President made this
known today during a press briefing.
After a marathon meeting that took place at FUT
(Federal University of Technology) in Minna, Niger
state today, the 16th of December 2013, the Union
arrived at the decision to suspend the strike.
More details will be made available in the upcoming
days.
A big congrats to all the students.
