The 10th edition of AMAA, Africa Movie Academy
Awards for 2014 is about to kick start.
The organizers of the awards ceremony said in a
press briefing that the event will hold in Nigeria
come 2014.
While briefing the press, the producers, jury head,
ambassador and supporters shared experiences on
the awards ceremony in the last 9 years.
The occasion, which had the presence of Peace
Fiberesima, Sunny McDon, Steve Ayorinde, Lydia
Forson, Seun Akinfolami, Mike Mora, Kingsley Ogoro,
Frank Dallas and Tope Ajayi amongst others, held in
Lagos recently.
Speaking to the media, AMAA CEO, Peace Fiberesima
explained how and why AMAA berthed while the jury
head for the 10th edition, Steve Ayorinde took the
audience down memory lane as well as the
organizers plan to better their previous
breakthrough.

Awards, AMAA would be holding it's 10th edition in
2014 and the producer of Africa Film Academy has
budgeted over $50,000 for winners.
According to the producing company under the
auspices of Peace, the awards ceremony, which was
founded to continually honour and promote
excellence in the African movie industry as well as
uniting the African continent through arts and
culture, would be going a step further by adding
monetary rewards!
In a press statement, Peace and members of the
organizing committee noted that a whopping
$10,000 would be shared among journalists, who
have exceedingly display a proper propagation of the
AMAA brand in the last 9 years.
The cash prize would be shared among 3 winners-
first prize, $5,000, 2nd prize is $3,000 and while the
third prize is $2,000 for journalists who emerge
winners.
Not resting on its oars, AMAA promises to reward
winners of the Africa's Best People's Choice Awards-
nominees are past winners in major categories of the
AMAA in the last 9years!
Eventual winners of Best Actor, Best Actress, Best
Film, Best Director and more from the Africa's Best
People's Choice Awards, would be awarded a sum of
$10,000 each.
With over 500 movies submitted, Peace noted that
the Africa Movie Academy team have trained over
2500 people across the continents in film making
and acting related courses.
Speaking further, the trained legal practitioner
hinted that AMAA's credibility can't be questioned or
judged as the jury headed by popular film critic,
Steve Ayorinde consist of major curators of the
African cinema at all major cinemas and film festivals
all over the world.
The exact date for the awards ceremony will be
announced soon.
